We understand that as a business our biggest asset is our workforce. Not only are we intent on investing into each individual in order to bring out the best in each of them but we strongly believe in ensuring we provide a safe working environment for all employees, subcontractors, clients and visitors.
In the construction industry from March 2020 to March 2021 there were:
• 39 fatal injuries to workers and 4 to members of the public
• 61,000 cases of non-fatal work-related injury with 41% involved over three days and 25% over seven days absence
Around 2.9% of workers in our sector suffered from an injury. This rate is statistically significantly higher than that for workers across all industries (1.7%).
For us at PR Plant we find these numbers to be distressing and we believe that only with the correct culture towards health & safety within the business can we maintain our very proud record of having ZERO workplace incidents since our inception!
We believe nobody deserves to come to work and end up as another accident statistic and only through investing in a progressive culture towards health and safety with robust policies and safe working practices are we able to ensure everyone and anyone who interacts with us on a day-to-day basis are kept as safe as possible.
We strongly believe in empowering our workforce in being responsible for not only their own health and safety but also for that of their colleagues, peers and the public. We continually invest time and resource into creating proactive approaches regarding our construction methodology, constantly seeking feedback from the workforce on how we can make our workplace environment as safe as possible.
We promote a culture where our Managers and Supervisors lead by example and our staff demonstrate personal leadership in Health and Safety, our values of teamwork and accountability actively encourage our staff to engage and interact with their colleagues and customers.
